It's true, and a little bit surprising, but we have found that Dr. Barrow's new children's adventure, self esteem building novel is getting rave reviews from adults. Kids are loving the book advertised from "9 and up" and the parents and grandparents are loving it too. It certainly is a pleasant surprise, but not completely unexpected, as the Harry Potter series, by JK Rowling was also well received and widely read by adults. What is a surprise however is the absolute raves the book is receiving from the "and up" crowd. They have communicated with us that they can not put the book down, that they laughed out loud, cried and learned something as well. The lessons on building self esteem Dr. Barrow has embedded throughout the rollicking tale seems to be making an impact on the adults too, proving you are never too old to improve your self esteem. Conquering her fears, Malia seems to be striking a chord with all age groups, as she takes her journey of self discovery and is confronted by dire situations and at times very dangerous misadventures.
It seems for parents, grandparents and all adults it is a very nice diversion from the reality of our everyday news and negative reinforcement we are confronted with daily. Malia & Teacup, Awesome African Adventure is a good feeling, I can conquer this, exciting adventure for kids of all ages, 9 to 90.
