Just as a spoonful of sugar made the medicine go down, as Mary Poppins, wonderfully played by Julie Andrews sang in the classic children's film, Dr. Molly Barrow uses the same tactic for helping children with other problems. "A spoonful of adventure makes the psychology go down," states Dr. Barrow. The concept is to reach children with important embedded messages within fun and exciting storytelling. The interesting factor and the reason it works so well is that the children do not realize they are taking the medicine. The results in her practice have been enormous, which is why Dr. Barrow has written and just released her first children's book, Malia & Teacup - Awesome African Adventure.
There is nothing that concerns parents and grandparents more than the safety of the children. Nothing works better than self esteem building to keep them safe from predators and bullies. This is why Dr. Barrow's new fun, adventure series about a young girl and her dog is such a vital read for tweens. Written for ages 9 and up the book tells the story and misadventures of a Midwestern girl who travels to Africa to visit her estranged father and what she encounters on her trip is a her self discovery. The book is a must read for all age appropriate children and for parents and grandparents to read and discuss as well.
