Dr. Molly Barrow has just released a version of Malia & Teacup - Awesome African Adventure for younger readers, ages 7-9. The new book entitled Malia & Teacup - Out on a Limb features the same characters as the 9 and up version, and does have age appropriate self esteem building messages cleverly embedded within the story. Out on a Limb takes a very funny and self worth building segment of Awesome African Adventure and creates a wonderful little book of 134 pages. With beautiful illustrations, just like the big book, Out on a Limb is a perfect starter for the young reader to be introduced to the characters, messages and fun of the Malia & Teacup series. It is difficult to think of another series of children's books that crosses over to a different reading level, yet keeps the integrity of the story and message still intact. It is a great concept, and widens the fan base of the series. Dr. Barrow has taken a segment of the first book and revised the language to be reading level appropriate, adding passages, to create a hilarious, adventure story that is still infused with self esteem building experiences so enjoyed by the older readers.
